Frequently Asked Questions

The schedule isn't showing any events.

The app fetches parking restriction data directly from the publicly available City of Evanston website. If no events appear, either the City hasn't posted upcoming restrictions yet, or your network is blocking the request.

Pull down on the schedule to refresh. If the issue persists on Wi-Fi and cellular, it's likely that no events have been listed for upcoming dates.

My notifications aren't arriving.

Check that notifications are enabled for this app in your device's Settings → Notifications. On iOS, make sure "Allow Notifications" is turned on. Notifications are delivered locally by your device — no internet connection is required.

Also confirm the reminder was set: tap the bell icon next to the event and verify your chosen lead time appears highlighted.

The parking restriction times seem wrong.

Restriction start times are calculated as 2 hours before the listed event start, consistent with standard City of Evanston District 6 enforcement. For example, a 7:00 PM kickoff means parking restrictions begin at 5:00 PM.

Always verify against the official City of Evanston source before making any parking decisions.

How do I cancel a reminder I set?

Tap the purple bell icon next to the event. A confirmation prompt will appear — tap Remove Reminder to cancel all notifications for that event.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes — after the first successful load, schedule data is cached on your device and available offline. The cache is refreshed automatically roughly once a month, or whenever you manually pull to refresh.

What data does the app collect?

None. The app collects no personal information. Notification preferences and cached schedule data stay on your device only. See the full Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Pull down on the schedule screen to force a fresh data refresh.
  2. Check Settings → Notifications → NU Stadium Guest Parking Alert — ensure notifications are allowed.
  3. Verify the event bell icon shows your selected reminder time (highlighted purple).
  4. Confirm your device's time zone matches the event's local time (America/Chicago).
  5. If nothing resolves the issue, delete and reinstall the app to reset local state.
